Update From Feed
> The "Update from Feed' option is used to refresh the Historical data already downloaded in Velocity 2.0 from the server. This can be useful if a stock has had some corporate action and its history has been readjusted or due to some reason your history is incomplete or has breaks and needs to be refreshed / replaced. The Update from Feed option will refresh the data by downloading the data from the server. Older data if you have, however will not be deleted.
> In Velocity 2.0, while using the eSignal Plugin Method, whenever you Backfill (Amibroker eSignal Plugin) / Reload historical Data (NT7 & NT8), you would get the historical data which is already there in Velocity 2.0.
If you wish to refresh this data from the server, you would need to do it manually using the 'Update from Feed' option. This is also the case for all Tick data downloads.
You need to follow these 2 steps:
Step 1>> Open TrueData Velocity and Right Click on any symbol.
Step 2>> Click on "Update from feed" and select any one or all symbol(s), time and Date from.
Once this process is completed, Velocity 2.0 fills all the gaps with fresh data from the server.
To Backfill (Amibroker) :
- Right click on the Green Tab at the bottom right of Amibroker which says 'OK'
- Click on 'Backfill NIFTY' > 'Backfill All Data' (Velocity 2.0 - Amibroker ADK Plugin) - Historical data is refreshed from TrueData servers.
- In Velocity 2.0 > If you however, need only today's data or a specific number of day's data use the desired option. There is no need to request for more data than you need as it will only take that much longer to download it & replace the already existing data.
- Wait for a few seconds as the data is requested from the server (Entire EOD + 1 min data) & your charts updated again.
To Reload All Historical data (NinjaTrader 7 & NinjaTrader 8):
- Right click on your chart & click 'Reload All Historical Data'
- Wait for a few seconds as the data is requested from the server (Entire EOD + 1 min data) & your charts updated again.
- Historical Data is refreshed from locally available data in Velocity 2.0. If you need to refresh the data from the servers, use 'Update from Feed'
